HOLLYWOOD’S MAN OF 10,000 VOICES RETURNING TO AUSTRALIA THIS WINTER BY POPULAR DEMAND
Frontier Comedy are delighted to welcome ‘human sound-effects machine’ Michael Winslow back to Australia this July and August for his most extensive stand-up tour of our shores to date.
The master of vocal gymnastics was last in Australia for Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2014, which saw him sell out all nine Yarraville Club performances and pick up a bevy of rave reviews along the way including a four-star review from the Herald Sun.
Winslow’s mastery of vocal gymnastics first came to prominence on the stand-up circuit in the early 80s after doing voiceovers for both Disney and Universal Studios for films like Back to the Future and Terminator.
His performance as Sgt. Larvelle “Motor Mouth” Jones in the Police Academy movie series saw Winslow become a household name, a role specifically created to showcase his vocal talents. Notably, his is the only character to appear in all instalments of Police Academy including all seven movies, the cartoon and the television series.
Appearances in Mel Brooks’ Spaceballs and Gremlins quickly followed, with audiences amazed by Winslow’s incredible ability to create remarkably convincing sound effects – machine gun fire, helicopters, a harmonica, police sirens – using nothing more than his voice. More recently, Winslow has been animated (and voiced himself!) on The Simpsons and Family Guy, and his in-demand talents have been showcased on countless video games and apps.
A mix of impersonations, impressions, story-telling, music and sound effects, Winslow’s live show is not a traditional stand-up comedy routine but a sound-fuelled adventure that showcases his truly remarkable talent.
His signature renditions of rock gods like Jimmy Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, as well as a re-enactment of an entire Star Wars battle scene, have made Winslow’s live show a ‘must-see’ performance. Don’t miss Michael Winslow, an inimitable talent and icon of comedy’s golden age, live this winter.

Herman's HermitsBuy Tickets Online
The Mid-60’s music scene was dominated by British Acts; three of which became household names – The Beatles – The Rolling Stones and…..Herman’s Hermits, one of the most successful groups throughout the world. From their beginning in Manchester, England, on April 1st 1964, the band has chalked up over 23 hit singles, 10 hit albums, 3 major movies and countless television shows and concert tours all over the world – up to date they have total record sales of over 75 million.
Since the departure of former band member Peter Noone in 1971, to pursue a solo career, the group has never stopped. Original member Barry (the Bean) Whitwam, has guided the band from strength to strength, into one of the hardest working acts in the business – they still average more than 150 one-night stands per year – and reckon they maintain their stamina by having an amazing sense of humour.
Their touring schedule takes them to Germany, Belgium, Holland, the Scandinavian countries, the U.S.A., Canada, Australia and New Zealand on a regular basis, and they still find time to perform in their home country the United Kingdom, packing in the audiences at every venue and delighting them with their solid musicianship, vocal ability and dynamic stage presence.
The ‘Golden Oldies’ still make up a large part of their show – much to the enjoyment of their fans, who can’t resist singing along to Mrs Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter, Silhouettes, Dandy, Henry VIII and others too numerous to mention.
From the Sixties, through the Seventies, Eighties, Nineties and into the 21st Century Herman’s Hermits are still ‘Into Something Good’.

Kevin has become a national institution – a must see for any person wanting to see absolute original Australian comedy.
If we were asked to nominate one individual to best define Australian humour, for most of us, the name Kevin Bloody Wilson immediately springs to mind. His recently released biography ‘DILLIGAF, The Life And Rhymes Of Kevin Bloody Wilson’ is a raucous, earthy, in depth look at perhaps one of the only Australian Comedians who has not bowed to the pressures of political correctness.
It’s also a known fact that nobody tells Australian stories better than Kevin Bloody Wilson. His peers agree;
“The world’s funniest Australian” Billy Connolly
“I love Kev. My favourite is Livin’ Next Door To Alan.” Paul Hogan
It seems ironic that twenty-five years ago, Kevin Bloody Wilson was being arrested for performing his songs in public, yet on Australia Day in January 2010, he was officially nominated for Australian Of The Year for doing exactly the same thing.
Now, Kev tours often in Australia and internationally, always to large audiences of adoring fans. He maintains his stringent tour schedule because of his love of live shows, and the incredibly interaction he has with the multitude of fanatical Kev fans worldwide.

AkmalBuy Tickets Online
Akmal returns to Melbourne because owes a lot of money and the debt collectors have promised that if payment isn’t made they will break his legs which he needs to perform stand-up comedy successfully
His return coincides with the unprecedented popularity of small men of Middle Eastern appearance that’s sweeping the country.
Remember, if you go and see any other comedian, then the terrorists have won.
Known for his incredible ability to deal with hot topics in a hilarious and slightly offensive way, Akmal promises this year to deliver a show that is punctual and jam-packed with words…some of which he will be using for the first time.
One of Australia’s most respected and accomplished comics, Akmal draws on his Arabic heritage, his experiences immigrating to Australia at the age of 11, and his disillusionment with religion and the modern world to deliver a stand-up show that is fresh, honest and ridiculously funny.
Saleh entered the world of comedy in 1990 under the alias Peter Saleh (“so people would think I was white”, he says). Since then he’s performed in movies, on TV and as a regular radio and talk show host, and has written a book about his journey from Egypt and his life as an Arab on the Australian comedy circuit.
As a stand-up he’s performed at Festivals all around the world including Edinburgh, and has won numerous awards, including an ARIA for his DVD Live and Uncensored.
This year, for the first time in history, he’s promising to appear in high definition 3D (glasses not provided though).
